HOW YOU LIKE ME NOW?

So...I redesigned the site. I liked the blue and orange thing, but it's kind of like when you paint your room a funky color. You love it at first, then after a while you grow a little sick of it, and then after a while longer you start hating it.  So I toned it down a bit.  The new site looks more like a blog and/or a data site -- I didn't want to get as spartan as bbr, but I feel like the new look is a little more substance and a little less flash.

Also, for those of you who are code-geeks and care about these things, I adopted the Twitter Bootstrap so basically the site has a lot more consistency to it; some of the pages used to look nice, but I felt like the design was all over the place; on one page a button would be blue and on another it was grey, etc. Now most of the elements look the same on every page (i.e. links are always the same color blue).

I still haven't gotten mobile worked out, so if you are looking at this on a phone or tablet, I make no guarantees, but it is definitely on my to-do list to get that looking better. It wasn't high-priority because frankly the old design sucked on mobile devices too, anyway.

There are bound to be bugs, so if you run into any, help a geek out and let me know via the Contact form. And of course, let me know in the comments whether you like it or not.

I like the new look, and I know exactly what you mean about tiring of a color or scheme; as a kid I painted my bedroom orange (actually Pumpkin Chiffon, I hate to admit), because it was supposed to be a 'warm' color, and I was a cold-hearted bastard. I don't think it helped.

The scrolling is a little weird--the top line of the newest post stays in one spot--but no harm, no foul. What's important is that you enjoy what you're doing.

Brett, the top line of the newest post only stays there until you get to the second article; then the top line becomes the title of that article.

That is, the top line is always the headline of whatever article you are reading. A feature, not a bug ;)

I'm cool with it. Just one of the more noticeable differences with the new look. Haven't seen anything I don't like.
