MORE DESIGN CHANGES

You may have noticed some more design changes. Most of them are fairly cosmetic, like the shadows that give depth. A couple of things are significant though:

  • On desktops, the space devoted to an article is a lot more narrow. All my desing buddies tell me this is important and makes stuff a lot easier to read, with only 12-15 words per line.
  • I've picked some new fonts. I went with Adobe Sans Pro and Adobe Source Code Pro (for the tables). I'm hoping also, that this makes stuff more easier to read.

Let me know if you like (hate) any of it!

Hi! I like the design tweaks you've been implementing the past few months but the new shadow on your avatar looks off. You might want to consider just removing it or changing the angle of the 'lighting' so that it fades into the left-hand side of your screen.

Also, your avatar, while handsome, covers up some of the numbers on the stats pages.

Confirming Yeh is not alone.

Thanks guys!

JP -- wow, nice attention to detail. A friend of mine who's way better at photoshop than I did this and I wouldn't know where to start to change the lighting.

Chris/Jake,

I've fixed the geek; he should now disappear if the screen is less than 1400px on stats pages (1200px otherwise).

Personally, I liked the wider text boxes. More words per line was nicer for me.

I like the font of the text, but don't love the table text font. A little small and "Line-flow" 80s computer styles for my tastes.

I don't really have an opinion either way about the aesthetic changes, but my wife just informed me that "the little basketball guy is cute."
