Recently, when I talked about how good Andre Drummond is, a commenter objected that Drummond isn't very good, because after all, like Tyson Chandler, he can't get his own shot, and he only shoots when he's wide open. And of course, we heard the usual lazy rhetoric about how the Points Over Par metric rewards guys who don't shoot very much, which is, of course, why Kevin Durant is leading the league in wins produced (oh, wait).
The NBA Season is ready to start on Christmas Day, the last couple of preseason games are being played as I write this up, and it's time for me to cater to every serious NBA fans love of season previews! The 2011 Geektastic Preview is going to be way too large for one article, so I'm dividing it up into divisions (and even so, it's going to be long, so get a cup of coffee!). In this article I'm going to preview the Dallas Mavericks, who are still going to be a powerful team despite losing Tyson Chandler.
The guys over at FillingTheLanes had me on their podcast again. This time I talked about the inherit conflict of interest that the NBA has by owning the Hornets, evaluate some of the trades and free agency signings that have been going down, and generally embarass myself with ridiculous slang like "Hella" (that one is my girlfriend's fault, she says it all the time and it has slipped in to my consciousness) and "shizznits" (that one...well...I got nothing).
As with part 1 (which you can read here), I'm calling them guesses, not predictions, because this way if I'm completely wrong, I won't look as stupid. Will I do something as crazy as amnestying Kobe freaking Bryant again today?
